PICK OF THE WEEK: Ingrid Keir

If you’re anything like me you love San Francisco rain through your windowpane. If you’re exactly like me you went on a 4 mile hike through the rain yesterday and sat soaked through an amazing play and then to the cozy afterhours spoken word celebration of the nuptial ceremony of Steven Gray and Sarah Page, all that to say today is really a treat: to sit next to the rain and remain dry.

With all that in mind I’ve been enjoying the sweet sweet combination of poetry and jazz this morning from the recent reunion of The Word Party. Choice pick: “Black and Blue” by Ingrid Keir:

If that hit the spot, try Jennifer Barone, Jimmy Mankind, and, because watching these videos took me here, Upward Over the Mountain. Videos, except for that last one there, courtesy of Charles Kruger.

This coming week » Tomorrow’s your chance to attend The Greatest Reading in the World. Then on Thursday you should try not to miss the Kaleidoscope Reading Series.
