You’re familiar with our calendar: a simple list of events happening throughout the month. Today we’re trying something new: a brief description/preview of each of the week’s upcoming events, with one featured event. Check back Sunday nights for this.

Featured event: LitUp Writers: Highlights in Low-Lighting

This Saturday, June 4th, Jennifer Lou and Graham Gremore will host another raucous evening of hilarious first person essays at Space Gallery, marking almost two years of theLitUp Writers series which is going stronger than ever. Here’s a review of their last show [videos here].

If you missed Private Parts, Graham’s solo show that ran at the SF Playhouse the past four Sundays, you missed out on a chance to laugh yourself into tears. Not to worry! There’s a rumor the show is going to be relaunched in the next few weeks. Until then, here’s another chance to get hysterical.

Graham and Lou will share the spotlight with some of LitUp Writers‘ favorite performers, setting the stage for one of their best shows yet!

Doors are at 8:00, and the show starts at 8:30. Tickets can be purchased in advance here for only $10 and will be sold at the door pending capacity for $12.

• Saturday: Naked Bulb: Fruitvale’s open mic for words and music is an overnight this time
• Sunday: K’vetsh: this monthly open mic turns 12 years old with performances by Sara Seinberg, Devon Devine with Jenna Riot, Kirk Read, Tara Jepsen, and Veronica Majano (haven’t been? read this for enlightenment and confusion)
