CANESSA READING SERIES: stephen ratcliffe, denise newman + joseph lease

Avery Burns hosted the Canessa reading series at Canessa Gallery, featuring readings by Stephen Ratcliffe, Denise Newman, and Joseph Lease.

Canessa recurs every 2nd Monday, so the next installment will be July 9th; doors open at 7 and readings start at 7:30 pm | donation $6 – no one turned away

Nicholas Leaskou is from San Francisco and received his MFA from USF in 2009. He co-owns Urban Pastoral Gardens and co-hosts Poet as Radio. His poems and reviews have appeared in VallumSwitchbackMidwayBoog City, and Fourteen Hills.

 

Jay Thomas makes a living in San Francisco reading poetry and co-hosting Poet as Radio on San Francisco Community Radio (savekusf.org). On most weekdays, however, he pursues his lifelong passion of corporate data warehouse engineering. He received his MFA in Writing from the University of San Francisco in 2007.

 

Delia Tramontina is originally from Flushing, NY. She received her MFA in Writing and Poetics from Naropa University in 2001. Her poetry has appeared in Ur-VoxBombay GinSpore and Tinfish. Her review of Sarah Rosenthal’s Manhatten appeared in Galatea Resurrects in 2010. More recently, her poetry has been included in Hamilton Stone Review, Sugar Mule, Sawbuck and Lyrotica: An Anthology of Erotic Poetry and Prose. She co-hosts Poet As Radio, a weekly show on writing and poetry, streaming online on KUSF in Exile/San Francisco Community Radio. Delia is currently living and working in San Francisco.
