1968 and Global Cinema puts cinemas of the long 1968 into dialogue with one another across national boundaries, considering them in tandem histories of 1968 and the interplay among social movements globally. Screening the Red Army Faction: Historical and Cultural Memory studies the Red Army Faction (RAF), a German left-wing armed struggle group that existed from 1970 to 1998, presenting the historical and political context out of which they emerged, in post-fascist era West Germany and globally as the Cold War set in and self-liberation and self-determination wars were waged. Celluloid Revolt: German Screen Cultures and the Long 1968 considers Germany’s political cinema of the long sixties.
