Books & Brews: Hamilton Edition Race to Revolution!

Join Bookshop Santa Cruz at Lupulo for our Race to Revolution game, a new event for history buffs who love Hamilton! This literary revolution in downtown Santa Cruz will feature not only the finest hops– but we’ll also be bringing a selection of books based around fantastic founders of the United States, and test your knowledge about history in a fun game. The winning team in this Race To Revolution will get a swag bag, a Hamilton-themed prize, and bragging rights of historic proportions.

In the first days of our nation, the character of our country was hotly debated in pubs and breweries across the land, with those like Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Paine and many others using this unique community space as crucible for freedom and expression. And lest we forget, our many founding mothers like Abigail Adams and Phillis Wheatley wrote pamphlets, letters and poems that were read in such beer-soaked locales, adding to the great American experiment. In that spirit we invite you to join us for an evening celebrating the ideals this country was founded upon, and hopefully introduce you to a founder or two you maybe never knew.
