Music is healing and enlivening, as therapy can be. Part listening party, part lecture, we’ll look at what makes jazz and human conversation so meaningful and potentially freeing. “Communicate musicality,” an idea derived from infant-parent studies, is an intimate song without words – shared
emotional narratives based on rhythm, tone and gesture that are deeply pleasurable and creative. When it is flowing, there is a sharing of rhythm that nurtures intimacy and creative expression in jazz and therapy.
