OutMusic Awardee IRINA RIVKIN layers poetic lyrics with rich textured harmonies, swirling with vocal percussive beats, all created live on-the-spot using her loop station instrument. Her CD “upwelling” has received airplay on over 100 radio programs. She also brings together music and community, producing fragrance-free “Songs in the Sierras” retreats at Clear Air Mountain House & Rose Street women’s house concerts in Berkeley. www.irinarivkin.com ;

JAN STECKEL retired early from the practice of pediatrics because of chronic pain. Her poetry book The Horizontal Poet (Zeitgeist Press, 2011) won a 2012 Lambda Literary Award for Bisexual Nonfiction. Her chapbooks Mixing Tracks (Gertrude Press, 2009) and The Underwater Hospital (Zeitgeist Press, 2006) also won awards for LGBT writing. Her creative writing has appeared in Scholastic Magazine, Yale Medicine, Bellevue Literary Review, What I Want from You: Voices of East Bay Lesbian Poets and elsewhere. She has won various contests, three Pushcart nominations and a Zeiser Artist Grant for Women. She lives in Oakland, California.
