Maggie Nelson

Please join us for a reading by Maggie Nelson, the author of nine books of poetry and prose, including the nonfiction collections The Argonauts, a National Book Critics Circle Award winner and New York Times bestseller, The Art of Cruelty: A Reckoning, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, Bluets, The Red Parts, and Women, the New York School, and Other True Abstractions; and the poetry collections Something Bright, Then Holes and Jane: A Murder, finalist for the PEN/ Martha Albrand Art of the Memoir. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in Nonfiction, an NEA in Poetry, a Literature Fellowship from Creative Capital, and an Arts Writers Fellowship from the Andy Warhol Foundation. She currently directs the MFA in Writing Program for the School of Critical Studies at CalArts and lives in Los Angeles.

The MFA Reading Series presents free literary readings and discussions that are open to the public. The series is co-sponsored by USF’s English department.
