Robert Pinsky and Murray Dewart discuss Poems About Sculpture and At the Foundling Hospital: Poems

Pegasus Books Downtown welcomes former poet laureate ROBERT PINSKY and sculptor MURRAY DEWART and for a discussion of their book Poems About Sculpture. Edited by Dewart and with a foreward by Pinsky, Poems About Sculpture is a unique anthology of poems from around the world and across the ages about our most enduring art form. Mr. Pinsky will also discuss his latest poetry collection, At the Foundling Hospital.

ROBERT PINSKY

Robert Pinsky is the author of several books of poetry, including Gulf Music, Jersey RainThe Want Bone, and The Figured Wheel. His bestselling translation of The Inferno of Dante sets a modern standard. He was the Poet Laureate of the United States from 1997 to 2000. Among his awards and honors are the William Carlos Williams Award, the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, the PEN/Voelcker Award, the Korean Manhae Prize, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the PEN American Center. He teaches in the graduate creative writing program at Boston University.

MURRAY DEWART

Murray Dewart is an internationally recognized sculptor who has built large public sculptures in China, Israel, and across the United States. He has work in more than thirty permanent collections, among them the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Harvard University’s Fogg Art Museum, and the Museum of San Marco University in Lima, Peru.
