Tell Your Story, Speak Your Truth: Make a Zine

February 7, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm UTC+0

Free

In this workshop, make a one-page zine of your own with staff and volunteers from SF Zinefest. Everyone is invited to write, draw, cut, paste, staple and copy their way to self-expression.

Would you like to have your work in the library? You’ll have the option to donate a copy to our new circulating collection of Zines. Some people will also be able to have their work exhibited at the Oakland Library table at this year’s SF Zinefest!

All supplies provided.

RSVP optional but appreciated. Tell your story, speak your truth. Let’s make some zines together!

Founded in 2001, San Francisco Zine Fest seeks to advance the do-it-yourself ethos by fostering community throughout the Bay Area. In our annual festival and its accompanying panels and workshops, we celebrate and support independent writers, artists and creators, allowing them to share their work with an ever-growing audience in exhibitions and public events.

Zines are self-published booklets which are easy to make and inexpensive to reproduce. There are no rules about form, function or purpose. Due to their accessibility and alternative nature, zines have been a medium of choice for folks who are otherwise underrepresented or marginalized.
