His first book\, Please (New Issues\, 2008)\, won the American Book Award\, and his second book\, The New Testament (Copper Canyon\, 2014)\, was named one of the best poetry books of the year by Library Journal and received the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award. His third collection is The Tradition (Copper Canyon\, 2019). His poems have appeared in The Nation\, The New Republic\, The New Yorker\, The Paris Review\, Time\, and several volumes of The Best American Poetry. \nBrown earned a PhD from the University of Houston\, an MFA from the University of New Orleans\, and a BA from Dillard University. He is an associate professor and the director of the Creative Writing program at Emory University in Atlanta. \nDexter L. Booth\nDexter L. Booth is the author of one poetry collection\, Scratching the Ghost \, which won the 2012 Cave Canem Poetry Prize. His poems have been published in Grist\, Willow Springs\, and New Delta Review. Booth teaches poetry and English composition at Arizona State University.
