CLATTERING LOOM: yutta hey
Sunday, Aug 19th 2012
Jonathan Hirsch + Valerie Chavez hosted Clattering Loom at the Red Poppy Arthouse with a theme of Yutta Hey. The Loom is a seasonal series that asks participants to explore a word or phrase in another language that doesn’t directly translate into English. Yutta Hey is a Cherokee phrase that some translate as “its a good day to die” — the famous battle cry of the Cherokee Indian. “Yutta Hey” isn’t a death wish, but a feeling of contentment with life at the moment.
