BERKELEY POETRY FESTIVAL: lifetime achievement award to clive matson

[ Sat May 5 12 ]

Mother’s Hen hosted the 10th annual Berkeley Poetry Festival at Berkeley City College. In addition to the performances, Clive Matson was honored with a lifetime achievement award.

The ceremony was held in the atrium, which is a pretty good spot to settle in for a few hours of poetry. Despite how beautiful of a day it was I stayed in for most of the show, leaving (sadly) to take care of some other mysterious business (what does Evan do with all of his time?). Fortunately, Charles was able to stay and record the remaining performances, which included the spotlight on our friend Clive.

Above is the entire show, with the order below. Click “Play” to watch all, “Next” to skip forward, or the small “Playlist” screen (to the right of the video time) to see thumbnails and watch them directly.

In conjunction with the poetry fest, there was an art showing out in the lobby with some rather magnificent work, including author books and some zines and whatnot. Read more about the festival. This year was presented in part by Sparring With Beatnik Ghosts, which did a mini-bout of Yaryan and the Olmsteds.
