This is a pilot episode for a series I’m working on, potentially to be syndicated by a larger station. The idea is to present some clips from my favorite readings each week and to talk about the authors and the places I see them. This first episode includes footage from Thurs Jan 26 – Thurs Feb 2, in the following order:
- Ali Liebegott at New Poetry Mission [more here]
- The Booksmith speaking about Kepler’s 2020 [more]
- L.J. Moore and Chanel Timmons at Saturday Night Special [more]
- Stellar Cassidy, Jack and Adelle Foley at Thursdays at Reader’s [more]
You can subscribe to the litpod here. We will be publishing occasional shows and excerpts in addition to the weekly reviews.
If you have any thoughts, let me know. I’m going to be more chatty in future episodes, with additional profile information of the authors and venues. Also, I’m going to work on leveling out the volume and cleaning the sound up a bit. Any advice is appreciated. But be nice. And enjoy!
Wow, this is great!!! Thank you for the coverage, and i’ll be tuning in!
I was in L.A. last weekend and there were 5 planes and a blimp flying around dragging useless advertising for Pabst and Cialis on banners through the sky. Today’s dream: to convince several flocks of pigeons and a parliament of ravens to tow banners advertising your podcast above the bay bridge at rush hour.
you are insane! i love your dream. who needs syndication when they have a parliament of ravens? now, if we only had bird brains…
[…] *Here’s the first episode. If you have any thoughts about the direction of our week in review, I’d be most happy to hear them. Please send me a note at evan@litseen.com or comment below. I definitely stumble a time or two in this week’s episode (and even make a mistake: Bang Out will continue to be every other month), and I’ve still got some work to do incorporating the music, but since we’re still essentially in pilot I hope you’ll forgive me for all this. Mostly, I’d really like to know what you like and what you don’t. Please enjoy responsibly! – Evan Karp […]
